Analysis of the Causes of Leakage of Reducer
        The seal between the two relatively moving joint surfaces of the reducer's input shaft, output shaft and the end face of the housing bearing is called the "dynamic seal point", and the seal between the upper and lower shell end faces and other structural coupling surfaces of the reducer is called " Static sealing point", the sealing failure of the static and dynamic sealing point makes it a leakage point.We can find the reasons for the seal failure by further analysis from the structure.So as to lay the foundation for solving the leakage problem.
3.1. The dynamic sealing point is on the input and output shaft in structure, the gear shaft passes through the circular surface where the bearing is located, and then extends out of the reducer through the end cover, and there is a gap between the shaft and the end cover hole, due to the sealing point Due to the pressure difference on both sides, the splashed lubricating oil cannot flow back to the lower casing of the reducer in time after passing through the bearing. It is collected between the bearing and the end cover, and leaks outward through the shaft surface and the end cover groove, so the oil cannot return to the lower casing in time The lack of tightness between the body and the end cover is the cause of the leakage of the dynamic sealing point, and because the shaft is in a rotating state here, it becomes a leak point that is difficult to solve.
3.2. The sealing of the joint surface of the upper and lower shells of the reducer is the main static sealing point of the reducer. The smoothness of the joint surface and the fastening of the bolts are directly related to whether the joint surface leaks.
3.3. Other shaft end covers are also the main static sealing points of the reducer. The reasons include the dynamic sealing points.
3.4. The leakage of the inspection cover is mainly caused by the smoothness of the joint surface and the deformation of the cover steel plate.
3.5. The oil leakage of ventilation is mainly affected by improper location and simple ventilation device.
3.6. The oil drain hole and the oil dipstick are generally connected by bolts, and the bolt threads are not standard enough to cause leakage here.
4. Remediation of the leakage of the seal gasket of the reducer
4.1. Leakage remediation methods and steps for dynamic sealing points
        The leakage control of the dynamic sealing point is the difficulty and the main point of solving the leakage of the reducer. After exploring, we have adopted the following effective methods to solve this problem (see Figure 1).
4.1.1, enlighten the oil
        At the position where the bearing is placed on the lower housing of the reducer, let a little distance from the end cover groove along the housing (slightly beyond the outer side of the bearing) inward, from shallow to deep, with a width of about 5 to about an oil guide groove to ensure oil return Smooth, an important step to reduce the pressure difference of the sealing point.
4.1.2, install oil ring
        An oil baffle ring is made and installed on the outside of the bearing. The outer diameter of the oil baffle ring is the same as the outer diameter of the bearing, and the inner diameter is larger than the inner diameter of the bearing, mainly to block the lubricating oil sprayed out through the bearing ball gap.The blocked oil returns to the lower shell through the oil guide groove.
4.1.3, install oil slinger ring
        The slinger ring is made and installed on the outside of the oil baffle ring. The inner diameter of the slinger ring is the same as the inner diameter of the bearing, and it is statically fitted with the shaft. The outer diameter is about 1~ smaller than the inner diameter of the end cover.If the oil slinger ring adopts a labyrinth slinger ring, and the end cover is processed to match it, the effect will be better.The slinger ring blocks the lubricating oil leaked from the shaft surface and returns to the lower shell through the oil guide groove.
4.1.4. Install skeleton oil seal
        After the first three procedures, the oil leakage problem has been completely solved, and the oil micro-permeation problem is solved by the skeleton oil seal.The end cap is processed and the skeleton oil seal is installed on the circumference of the end cap to completely solve the problem of micro oil leakage.
4.2 Leakage remediation of static sealing points
4.2.1. Leakage treatment on the upper and lower shell end faces
        First, measure the level and finish of the upper and lower shell end faces. If the shell is deformed due to other reasons, it needs to be processed and polished by a lathe. If the finish is not enough, it can be polished on a lathe or polished with water and sandpaper.The large gap of the joint surface should be less than 0.05mm; secondly, use sealant to completely seal the end surface.The end face of the bolt is firm.
4.2.2. Sealing treatment of inspection cover
        The oil leakage of the original inspection cover is mainly caused by the deformation of the steel plate of the inspection cover. This problem can be solved by remaking the steel plate with a thickness of more than 8mm to make the inspection cover and achieve the required smoothness.
4.2.3. Sealing treatment of vent holes
        The vent hole of the original ordinary reducer is located above the high-speed shaft and is too close to the oil level. This hole can be blocked. In addition, the vent hole is drilled above the low-speed shaft, where the oil pressure is low and the labyrinth structure is used. To achieve the purpose of only discharging oil mist and eliminating oil leakage.
4.2.4. Sealing treatment of the threaded connection between the oil drain hole and the oil dipstick
        Clean the thread oil stains, use raw tape to seal the threads, the effect is good.
4.2.5. Sealing treatment of other shaft end caps
        In addition to the dynamic sealing point, the sealing point treatment at other shaft end covers can be solved by processing the end cover and adding the end cover O-ring oil seal.Because these points are static sealing points, this single method can achieve the purpose of eliminating leakage.
5 Conclusion
        We used the above method to rectify the three reducers, and the leakage control effect shows that this method can completely solve the problem of oil leakage in the reducer.The leakage control method of the reducer described in this article is applicable to most types of reducers. The method is correct and can achieve the purpose of thorough leakage control and also has promotion value.For individual products with new structures and special structures, some of these methods can also be used according to their structure.
